Sludge Cake Conveyor | PD Belt Conveyor | Dewatered Sludge Transport Equipment

Product Information

The sludge dewatering room is tough on equipment—freshly pressed cake is sticky and soaked with corrosive moisture. This PD belt conveyor is a Sludge Cake Conveyor built specifically for these conditions. Using a tracking-resistant flat belt or a skirted trough belt, it continuously and reliably moves the cake from the filter press to the stockpile or loading hopper. This keeps wet mud off the floor, preventing secondary pollution and saving on manual cleanup.

Working Principle

Wet sludge cake drops straight from the filter press outlet onto the running belt. Driven by the drive pulley, the belt carries the cake forward smoothly. To deal with the stickiness, the unit is typically fitted with a heavy-duty polyurethane scraper pressed right against the belt to scrape off any residual mud—keeping the return belt clean. Meanwhile, the screw tensioning device and tracking rollers keep everything running smoothly, even under heavy loads.

Application Fields

1.Working alongside belt filter presses: relaying large volumes of freshly discharged wet cake to outdoor stockpiles.
2.Physical-chemical sludge rooms in printing or papermaking plants: solving the headache of sticky sludge dropping onto the floor.
3.Next to water plant sludge ponds: gathering dewatered sediment into loading hoppers.
4.Paired with screw presses: transporting compacted dry screenings to waste transfer bins.

FAQ

Q1: Does the belt on this Sludge Cake Conveyor easily go off-track?
A: Not really. The unit has tracking rollers on both sides and a screw tensioning device at the tail. As long as the frame is level and the tension is even on both sides, the belt stays on track.

Q2: The sludge cake is super sticky. What if it just sticks to the belt?
A: That's a common issue. We usually install an alloy or polyurethane scraper right below the discharge end, pressed tight against the belt to force the mud off. Some models can also be fitted with a water spray system to periodically clean the belt surface.

Q3: What should I do if the belt gets sliced by a foreign object?
A: The belt is typically high-strength wear-resistant rubber or PVC. If a sharp object like an iron block cuts it, you can patch it locally using belt repair strips with hot vulcanization or cold bonding. No need to replace the whole belt. Just make sure to put a protective net at the inlet during daily operation.
